Week 3: MKTG 3347 - The Impact of Visuals & digital editing

Visual communication is defined as the practice of using visual elements to get a message across; using communication design and or graphic design to evoke some emotion.

Visuals have a strong influence on every aspect of life; due to the process of visual stimulation, it is proven that images cause strong emotions. That is why businesses or individuals who use images on their social media platforms are much more likely to successfully engage with other users. In some cases adding a basic visual is not intriguing enough to cause the user to want to learn more about a post. The image above is an example of a captivating visual; it draws your attention quickly and makes you wonder what is the story behind it. The goal for the majority of professional accounts is to cause this emotion to expose themselves to many users. By becoming a good visual communicator it will help improve information retention and communication effectiveness. Some examples of visual communication would be reels, gifs, and actively posting on social media.

In Neil Patel's blog post "Best Image Editing Tools to Create Killer Rich Media" he states that creating content is time-consuming and can be difficult. But with resources like AI and VistaCreate users can create easy captivating visuals for free. At first, it was very difficult for me to create an idea; but I am very passionate about the fashion industry. I wanted to create a magazine cover for a fake designer that drove some influence by Vogue and Elle. VistaCreate was very easy to use; I had access to free images, fonts, and different templates.
